The Manchester Club held its April meeting this past Thursday. President Bruce Heisey opened the meeting with the salute to the flag. After the pledge Heisey requested members remain standing and a moment of silence was observed in honor of the passing of members Tom Kiley and Miles Carroll.
The Club was treated to a delicious meal prepared by Past Presidents, Bill Scott and Stan Koch. The beef shish kebab dinner was served on a bed of rice pilaf and accompanied by a garden salad, followed by a brownie sundae dessert. Assisting Bill and Stan in the kitchen were club members Johnny Hedrick, John Hannah, Billy Davis, Mark Chafee, Kenny Davis and Taylor Scott.
After dinner the club was entertained by Rich Renehan, local businessman, as the guest speaker. Rich, owner of Renco Corporation gave an interesting talk on his company, a global manufacturer and supplier of industrial, safety, medical, and laboratory products. Rich told the club how Renco, founded in 1952 by his father, has developed a reputation as one of the world’s innovation leaders in the field of industrial products. He went onto tell the club how Renco gloves were used by NASA to handle moon rocks and other products in the late 1960’s. Today, Renco developed and manufactured gloves are used throughout the world today. Rich explained his products are meeting the increased demand of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. An example he used was their use in the manufacturing of chemotherapy drugs. Rich recently opened a manufacturing plant in New Hampshire and is proud to be putting Americans to work. At the conclusion of his interesting talk, Rich drew the evenings raffle ticket won by Chris Rose. President Heisey then closed the meeting monthly meeting. See you next month!
