Club President Tim Brown called all to order for the first meeting of the new season and extended a warm welcome to new members.
Dick Lysiak and his great crew served a fabulous steak and lobster meal for the first meeting of the “winter season”. Selectman Tom Kehoe worked up a sweat over the barbecue pit and Chief of Police Glenn F. McKiel doled out lobsters and steaks to the members, trusting that everyone would take what they had ordered, no more, no less. Apparently Dick’s head count was pretty good as no one got shorted on their order.
The meal was followed by a moment of silence for departed member Tink Floyd and later by a slightly tardy note of thanks to the kitchen crew.
The Cape Ann Response Team spoke about their organization, including how they are funded, the training they receive and the action they have seen in. They were called to Watertown after the Marathon bombings.
