The Manchester Club held its Annual Christmas dinner and food drive along with a visit from Santa Claus at the American Legion Hall last Thursday, December 15th, 2016. A large group of members and guests attended.
Stan Koch and John “Doc” Herrick put on a delicious roast beef dinner with green beans and almonds, mashed potatoes, fresh rolls along with dessert and coffee. The kitchen crew doing a great job. After dinner, President Filias called the monthly meeting to order, leading all present in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Executive Board member Bruce Heisey made a motion to disperse with the business meeting until the January meeting.
As silence grew over the hall, Santa arrived to accept the monetary gifts and all of the food donation for the needy, all going to the local church and the Open Door food pantry. Santa thanked all for the generous donations.
Santa’s next order of business along with members Alan Kirker and Tim Brown, was the drawing of the Annual Christmas raffle tickets. The top prize winner was Jane Scott. All proceeds are for the 115th Birthday Gala of the Club which will be held in 2020.
Santa then mounted his sleigh and wished all a Merry Christmas and a healthy Happy New Year.
President Filias wished all the members and guests the same, along with the officers and the Executive Board. See you all in January 2017 for the Manchester Club’s 112th Annual meeting.
